Leadership (student module): Know Your Leadership Vision and Philosophy

A vision without a plan is just a dream. A plan without a vision is just drudgery. But a vision with a plan can change the world. ~ Old proverb

In order for you to find your path in the world and to lead others effectively, you must be able to develop a clear vision of what you are aiming to accomplish and be able to communicate that vision with others to gain support. A clear vision helps maintain motivation in yourself and others, provides a structure for the organization and moves you into the future.

Personal Vision Statement

Your personal vision for your life can be as simple as a couple of words or as lengthy as 200 or more items you want to attain or accomplish. Read more about creating your personal vision.

Develop Your Personal Philosophy of Leadership:

A personal philosophy of leadership includes what you believe leadership is and describes who you are as a leader. Creating this statement is a personal process and enables you to understand what you believe leadership is all about. When you are making decisions, it will help remind you what your leadership values are.
